Next week is National Apprenticeship Week – this is a week dedicated to looking at the Post-16 Option of Apprenticeship and increasing student knowledge and understanding of this Post-16 Option.
To celebrate, the school will be holding a series of events to help enhance students’ basic knowledge and understanding of Apprenticeship – whilst also providing selected students with additional support in how to access apprenticeship programmes beyond Year 11.
The activities include:
Year 7-11 Tutor Time
Monday or Tuesday (dependant on Assembly Day) – All Tutors deliver a Session on What is an Apprenticeship to help introduce Apprenticeships.
Rest of week – A brief video at the start of the Tutor Session that focuses on ‘A day in the life on an Apprentice’ across a variety of different sectors.
Year 9-10 Havering College Workshops
On Monday 7th, Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th Feb a series of Apprenticeship Workshops will be delivered to ALL of Year 10 and a selected group of Year 9 Students (approximately 60 students). These workshops will be run by Havering College and will cover a basic Introduction to Apprenticeships, Qualifications etc.
Please note that Year 10 sessions will be taught in FORM GROUPS
The running order for these sessions is as follows and will take place in the library each day.
Monday 7th Feb (9-1pm)
Period 1 (9-10) – Year 10 Session 1 – Students in 10AD ONLY
Period 2 (10-11) – Year 10 Session 2 – Students in 10SN ONLY
Period 3 (11:30-12:30) – Year 10 10 Session 3 – Students in 10MM ONLY
AM- Wednesday 9th Feb (11:30-3pm)
Period 3 (11:30-12:30) – Year 10 10 Session 1 – Students in 10RV ONLY
Period 4 (12:30-1:30) – Year 10 Session 2 – Students in 10EA ONLY
Period 5 (2-3pm) – Year 10 Session 3 – Students in 10KL ONLY
Thursday 10th Feb (9-12pm)
Period 1 (9-10) – Groups of Selected Year 9 Students – Students TBC

The school has been signed up to get access to Webinars relating to Apprenticeships that can be offered for small selected groups of year 11 students to attend to assist them in accessing their Post-16 Options choices – This is only for students interested in Apprenticeships
