At Hornchurch High School we believe in ‘Excellence for All’, and that to achieve this overarching aim, we should keep three main points in mind:
We ASPIRE to be the best in all we do. This aspiration should be evident in all areas of the school; Head teacher, support staff, senior Leaders, students and Parents. We can achieve this by reaching high standards in all academic, social and professional aspects of school life.
We BELIEVE that we are the school which can bring the best out of these areas of development in students and adults. We know what we want to achieve, and we know how to get there.
We ACHIEVE our goals through shared vision, great planning and communication and team work.
Our students are proud to belong to Hornchurch High School. They are aware of their responsibilities in maintaining high standards for learning and behaviour, treating others with respect and wearing their uniform with pride.
Students are expected to work hard and to be the best that they can be. We promote traditional approaches to teaching, ensuring every child is supported to allow them to reach their full potential. We offer a full and challenging curriculum and encourage families to be involved in their child’s education at every stage.
We believe that excellent teaching, and good order are key factors in enabling our students to achieve their true potential, whilst enjoying a safe atmosphere where they can feel confident and thrive. We expect students to give, and expect the best.
We are a positive school and embrace the ever changing nature of education. We work hard as a community to ensure that all our students leave us well prepared for the next stage in their education and beyond.
Our Governors play an effective role as our critical friends. We welcome feedback not only from them but also from parents and our local community, as we actively seek opportunities to build links and grow as a school.
